Employee Monitoring Software: Features Businesses Should Look For

A practical evaluation checklist for attendance, reporting, policies and device coverage.

Match features to requirements

Create a short list of decisions your team needs to make before comparing software. Attendance reviews, application policy checks and workload conversations are distinct tasks. For each requirement, identify the records and reports you need, who will use them and how often. This prevents a long feature list from becoming a substitute for a useful evaluation.

Request a demonstration with your scenario

Ask the vendor to show a representative work session, an application record and a policy event where supported. Look at timestamps, filters and report explanations. Check what a manager can actually see and what requires another permission. A scenario-based demo is more informative than a list of capability names.

Check practical deployment details

Confirm operating-system coverage and device requirements. Ask how the agent is deployed, how configuration changes are applied and how disconnected devices are represented. Discuss recording and screenshot behaviour carefully if you need those capabilities. Obtain confirmation of what is implemented rather than assuming every requested configuration is available.

Evaluate controls and commercial scope

Ask about authorised access, retention and deletion processes and the product documentation available before purchase. Confirm plan scope and applicable terms in writing. TrackEye’s pricing page lists Basic, Pro and Custom Enterprise; the team must confirm available features and commercial arrangements for your organisation.

Take the next step

Explore TrackEye’s proposed capabilities, compare the plans, or request a demonstration to confirm the functionality relevant to your organisation.
